NAGARKOT SAANKHU DAY RIDE

TOTAL DISTANCE: Approx. 65KM.

We ride South-West out of the Kathmandu city around 8:30am, following the six lane road to Bhaktapur. We will turn left at Balkumari and ride through the sleepy Newari town to Thimi. Riding thru Thimi, an ancient farmers town you will be instantly taken back 200 years. Continue to Bhaktapur, Kathmandu Valley's ancient town with temple complexes and palace courtyards. Take a quick walk thru the Durbar Square before we start our ascend to Nagarkot. You will love the ride on this part! Nagarkot is a famous hill station with amazing sunrise and sunset views along with 160 degree panorama of mountains. We ride to Nagarkot Farm House located secluded on a small hilltop, far enough from the crowded hotels and resorts and enjoy lunch in their beautiful green garden filled with fruit trees. Amazing mountain views on a clear day. When we are ready to leave, we take the backroads that takes us to Saankhu, an ancient town North-West of the city and re-enter Kathmandu city via Boudhanath. Pay a quick visit to the Boudhanath Stupa - considered to be the biggest Buddhist monument in South Asia.

KULEKHANI DAY RIDE

TOTAL DISTANCE: Approx. 85KM round trip.

Kulekhani has a famous reservoir type lake. The lake stretches 7km and is surrounded by many beautiful farm lands and Nepali villages rich with ethnic cultures and diversity. The road is 90% blacktopped. The ride to Kulekhani is absolutely enjoyable with great scenery and well preserved jungles. Lunch will be near the lake with a local Nepali family who will prepare fresh fish from the lake. We continue towards a beautiful village of Chitlang rich in farming cultures. This is where during 1950s Nepal's first car was carried all the way and reassembled in Kathmandu. We ride down to Thankot via Tistung from where we will re-enter back to the city. Expect heavy traffic when we re-enter the city during the last 10km.

NAMOBUDDHA DAY RIDE

TOTAL DISTANCE: Approx. 90KM round trip.

We kick start the ride around 8:30am and head to Namo Buddha via Banepa and Dhulikhel. After a short tea stop at Dhulikhel, we switch to the 8KM uphill freshly blacktopped road passing through beautiful Tamang villages with terraced cultivated fields. There are awesome mountain views on a clear day. Namo Buddha is one of the power places of Kathmandu valley, majestically located at the top of a hill overlooking the entire Panauti valley. Namo Buddha offers great insight into Buddhist culture and tradition. Enjoy simple Tibetan lunch at a restaurant run by the monks. On our way back we visit the medieval town of Bhaktapur with ancient temple complexes and pottery square. With a coffee break we head back to Kathmandu around sunset.

NUWAKOT DAY RIDE

TOTAL DISTANCE: 150KM round trip.

We start our ride around 8:30am from your hotel, through the Queens Forests and climb up the Kakani hill approximately 2100M. Great mountain views on a clear day. Beautiful countryside road winding through numerous rice valleys and Tamang settlements. This ride offers a sneak peak into what real Nepal looks like. There are numerous rainbow trout farms along the way where we will stop for a quick bite of a fresh trout with local Nepali style hot pickle. We will continue ride to The Famous Farm, Nuwakot for lunch and visit the 7 storey palace built 400 years ago. Although partially ruined by the big earthquake of April 2015 the Palace still stands tall. We ride back taking a different route, once again thru beautiful paddy fields and enjoy our ride going thru Shivpuri forest following a beautiful river bed and back to Kathmandu city.
