JIRI RIDE

DEPARTURE: Any day of the week. (2 Days/1 Night)

Roughly 165km from Kathmandu towards eastern Nepal, Jiri is popularly known as Switzerland of Nepal because of it's green fertile valleys. Roughly at 8:30am start our ride via the Arniko Highway that links Kathmandu with Tibet border. In Dhulikhel 32km away from Kathmandu, we will have our first panoramic view of the Himalayas such as Ganesh Himal, Langtang and Dorje Lakpa from the side of the road. The road descends to Panchkhal then follows the beautiful Indrawati river to its confluence with Sun Kosi where we will cross a steel bridge. For those who enjoy a full day enduring ride, this is a perfect trip. We stop for lunch at Mude, a small bustling town at the height of 2400m. The entire ride is through beautiful countryside forests, villages and paddy fields.

Jiri used to be the gateway to Everest until early 1950s before the advent of airplane in Nepal.

Second day we take a different route and return back via a different but very scenic and beautiful road following the beautiful Sun Kosi river (golden river). Last 32km from Dhulikhel to Kathmandu will be repeated.

DAMAN PANORAMA OVERNIGHT RIDE

DEPARTURES: Any day of the week.

Daman - a beautiful village 56KM away from Kathmandu in the Central Nepal, at the height of 2320M is famous for mountain viewing. Surrounded by rich green jungles and Tamang villages the ride offers a sneak peak into Nepal's rural areas. The road offers great riding experience as there are not many vehicles. However, for the first 23km while getting out of Kathmandu expect heavy traffic. In order to avoid the heavy traffic we leave a bit late, around 9:30am which gives us enough time to enjoy a late breakfast and get to know each other.

After 23km at Naubise we leave the Kathmandu-Pokhara highway and take the old narrow highway which starts to ascend all the way to Daman. We stay in Daman's best Everest Panorama Resort enjoying great mountain views on a clear day.

On the way, back we have options of taking a totally different route to re-enter the Kathmandu city. The ride offers a great experience of a mountain road and rural cultures.

THE FAMOUS FARM RIDE

DEPARTURE: Any day of the week.

Total Distance:
160Km. We start our ride around 9:30am from your hotel, through the Queens Forests and climb up the Kakani hill as high as 2100M. Great mountain views on a clear day. Beautiful countryside road winding through numerous terraced paddy fields and Tamang settlements. This ride offers a sneak peak into what real Nepal looks like. We stop for a fresh rainbow trout snacks and Nepali traditional dhal-bhat (rice and lentil) lunch. We stay at The Famous Farm located near the small town of Nuwakot, in the middle of nowhere. This farm house is famous for it's peaceful settings and traditional Nepali style architecture. Next morning after breakfast, we visit the 7 storey palace built 400 years ago. Although the palace has been badly damaged by the big earthquake of April 2015, the whole structure still stands tall. We ride back thru the newly built road thru Gurjubhanjyang of Shivapuri Forest Reserve and arrive back in Kathmandu by early afternoon.
