A fully guided bike tour through Central and Western Nepal visiting historical Gorkha’s Fort Palace and Bandipur hillstation. Then we head to beautiful Pokhara and spend the rest of the day exploring the beautiful lakecity and the mountain views. Then we ride through scenic rice valleys of Syangja to another ancient trading town of Tansen in Palpa district. A sleepy town where the architectures are quite as old as the mountains. Then we ride south to Lumbini – the sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha to witness ancient cultures. Continue ride to Chitwan National Park where we park the bikes for a day and go for dug-out canoe ride, jungle walk, jeep safari to view wild animals such as Rhinos, Tiger, Leopard, Gray Langoor, Spotted Deer, Crocodile to name a few and many species of birds. Then we head north to Nuwakot Famous Farm, located alongside an ancient fort palace and enjoy a true Nepali hospitality. Return to Kathmandu via Shivapuri Forest Reserve and check back into our hotel in Thamel.
DETAIL TRIP ITINERARY
DAY 1: Arrive in Kathmandu. Meet, greet and transfer to our hotel.
Our representative will receive you at the airport. Transfer you to our hotel in Thamel. Rooms and Breakfast only. Bikes will be at the hotel the same evening.
DAY 2: Kathmandu to Gorkha. 145km.
100% blacktopped road. Expect heavy traffic for first 25km. Coffee stop at 56 Espresso Cafe. Nepali set lunch at Jomsom Thakali 100KM from Kathmandu. Arrive in Gorkha, check into a hotel. On a clear day Manaslu mountain range can be seen. Enjoy evening sunset views while having chilled beer.
DAY 3: Gorkha to Pokhara with a quick stop at Bandipur. 125km.
After breakfast, leave our hotel and take a short ride to see the ancient Gorkha Palace built 400+ years ago. Visit the historical museum. Mountain views is better from the Palace. Ride back down to the highway and climb 8km uphill to visit a small and well preserved Bandipur town. Enjoy coffee and head back down to Pokhara. Arrive in the early afternoon. Check into Hotel Barahi. Sightseeing ride to World Peace Pagoda, David's Falls and Gupteswor cave after lunch. Back to hotel. Dinner in one of the finest restaurants in the Lakeside.
DAY 4: Pokhara to Tansen. 136km.
Early morning walk around the Fewa lake is recommended. Only 10 minutes walk to the lake. On a clear day beautiful Fishtail mountain can be seen. Morning paragliding is also highly recommended. There are numerous paragliding companies offering spectacular flights (30 minutes) which is the best way to see the entire Annapurna mountain range and the lake city below.
After breakfast, we leave Pokhara and head to an ancient sleepy town of Tansen in Palpa district, Western Nepal. The road is absolutely beautiful with low traffic, scenic rice valleys, torquoise blue rivers, awesome mountain views on a clear day. Lunch stop at Multi-Cuisine Restaurant at a small bustling town of Walling. Arrive at Hotel Srinagar and enjoy the sunset view over the Himalayas from the roof. Early evening walk down to Tansen town, enjoy dinner at Nanglo West Restaurant offering Delicious Newari food as well as international cuisines.
DAY 5: Tansen to Chitwan National Park via Lumbini 230km.
Leave Tansen after breakfast approx. 8:00am. Ride to Butwal and to Lumbini - the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Park bikes and visit the ruins of Mayadevi Temple and a few other monasteries. Lunch at Lumbini Zambala Hotel. Head to Chitwan National Park via Daunne's beautiful highway passing thru many beautiful small villages and part of the National park's forests. Check into Park Hotel - one of the oldest and best resort hotel in Sauraha with biggest garden. Walk around and explore the Sauraha market. Buffet dinner at the resort.
DAY 6: No ride. Full day Jungle activities.
Early morning after tea, dug out canoe ride on the Rapti river to see birds and wild animals. Back to the resort for breakfast. Guided Jungle walk to see more animals accompanied by a Hotel's Nature Guide. Arrive back at the resort for lunch. Late afternoon private jeep safari to the deeper part of the national park to see endangered wildlife such as rhinos, tigers (there are roughly 250 tigers in Chitwan National Park but quite rare to see them), bear, leopard, three species of deer, two species of crocodile, Himalayan gray langoor, wild buffaloes, etc. Return back to resort. Dinner with Tharu cultural show.
DAY 7: Chitwan to Nuwakot Famous Farm. 150km.
After breakfast, we leave Chitwan and ride back on the main highway to 56 Espresso for a quick Coffee stop. At Galchi 10km further from coffee stop, we take the new Passang Lhamu highway that goes to Tibet border. However, we only go as far as Batar approx. 25k and climb up a newly expanded beautiful blacktopped road to Nuwakot surrounded by terraced hills. Check into Famous Farm - an old Newari house renovated and turned into a beautiful traditional Nepali hotel. Settle down for the evening with chilled beer in their beautiful garden overlooking the Trishuli valley. Nepali set dinner or Continental dish freshly cooked in an open kitchen. Vegetables are locally grown by the friendly and hospitable staff. Sunset view is spectacular.
DAY 8: Famous Farm to Kathmandu. 70km.
After breakfast, approx. by 9:00am we leave Famous Farm and head back to Kathmandu via newly built road that reconnects us to Kathmandu valley from the North side. Lunch stop at a small restaurant on the top of a hill overlooking the Chhahare rice valley. The views are amazing. We re-enter the Kathmandu city from the north thru Shivpuri Forest reserve. Check into our hotel in Thamel.
DAY 9: Transfer to airport. Fly back home. Or explore more on your own.
