TRIP HIGHLIGHTS

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see Everest from the saddle of a bike plus many other beautiful undisturbed mountain range. This tour also offers amazing riding experience thru beautiful Nepali and Sherpa villages and meet the friendly people living in the lower Solu Khumbu areas. A 4 days tour takes you to Patale and Taksindu Village with some fun off-roading experience. We round it up with a ride to one of Nepal’s holiest caves called Halesi Maratika and cross Nepal’s three big rivers. 

Imagine sipping your early morning coffee looking at the Everest. This is it!

DETAIL TRIP ITINERARY

DAY 1: Arrive in Kathmandu. Meet, greet and transfer to our hotel.

Our representative will receive you at the airport. Transfer you to our hotel in Thamel. Rooms and Breakfast only. Bikes will be at the hotel the same evening.

DAY 2: Kathmandu to Okhaldunga and to Patale. 240km.

We leave Kathmandu around 8:00am in the morning towards Dhulikhel. Take the newly built Japanese road to Khurkot. Take a coffee break. Continue to Okhaldunga, a small town on the top of a hill. Continue to Patale and spend a night at a hometay hotel. Amazing view right from the hotel window.

DAY 3: Ride to Taksindu (off-road) and back to Patale before sunset. Approx. 140km.

Enjoy breakfast sitting in the garden overlooking the entire Dudhkunda and Everest mountain range. Ride to Taksindu on dirt road passing thru many small but beautiful Sherpa villages and terraced potato and cherry fields. Enjoy the views with Sherpa snacks and butter tea at Taksindu. We ride back the same route back to Patale and return back to our Homestay Hotel. Enjoy Sherpa millet beer called Tongba.

DAY 4: Ride to Maratika Monastery Halesi Cave. 130km.

Leave Patale Homestay around 9:00am and ride back towards Okhaldunga. We take a short detour to visit a beautiful Nepali village called Rumjatar that has a small seasonal airport. Enjoy a tea break and return back to Okhaldunga and continue towards Halesi Maratika. Part of this ride follows the beautiful Dudh Kosi river (milky river) on a blacktopped but low traffic road. We leave the river at Jairam Ghat and climb up till we reach the Halesi cave on the top of a hill surrounded by beautifully terraced hills and scattered villagers settlements. Maratika Monastery and Halesi caves are well known among Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims who come here to offer prayers and perform deep meditation. We check into one of the best hotels in Maratika. Before dark we take a walk to visit the cave. Early morning we will visit Maraika Monastery when the monks are chanting early morning prayers.

DAY 5: Ride back to Kathmandu via Khurkot and Dhulikhel. 224km.

We leave Maratika when we are ready and ride back to Kathmandu via Khurkot and Dhulikhel. Pretty much on the same road that we took on the day 1. Beautiful road following the Dudh Kosi (milky river) and Sun Kosi (river of gold). Lunch and coffee stop at Mulkot before wrapping it up back in Kathmandu.

INCLUDES: 500CC Royal Enfield bike or 411CC Himalayan with fuel for the entire trip. Tour guide, mechanic, spare parts. Support vehicle on reqeust. Airport pickup and drop.  Hotel/Resort on twin share basis with breakfast and dinner. A cool tour t-shirt.

EXCLUDES: International air tickets, Nepal visa fee, lunch and dinner in Kathmandu, lunch during the tour. Bar bills and laundry. Tips and gratitude. Emergency rescue and Insurance. Repair charge for any physical damage to the bike.

OUR BIKES: We have 500CC Royal Enfield Classic or 411CC Himalayan with left gear shift & electric start. Bikes are only third party insured.

NOTE: No need of international driving license as long as you have a valid driving license from your country. Riders must bring proper riding gears. Nepal visa can be obtained upon arrival at the airport. Please carry 4 PP size photographs with you and photocopies of your passport.
